These terms govern every hire booked with Dig Ready Machine Hire(“we”, “us”). By booking a machine online, you agree to the terms below. Read them alongside our Damage Waiver policy, which forms part of every hire agreement.
1. Bookings & Eligibility
Bookings are made online only — we do not take machine bookings over the phone. Bookings are confirmed once we contact you to verify availability. You must be 18 or older to hire equipment. No specific licence is required to operate our mini excavators for private residential use; commercial operators are responsible for ensuring their own operators are appropriately qualified for the work being performed.
2. Payment
Booking online reserves your machine. Payment is finalised on delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept card, bank transfer and cash. All prices shown include GST unless stated otherwise.
3. Delivery & Collection
We deliver to and collect from the address provided at booking. Delivery fees are shown at checkout and confirmed before your booking is finalised. You are responsible for ensuring safe, adequate access for our delivery vehicle and for disclosing site hazards (tight access, gates, overhead powerlines) at the time of booking.
4. Use of Equipment
Equipment must be operated safely, within its rated capacity, and in accordance with any instructions provided at delivery. You must check for underground services (via Dial Before You Dig or equivalent) before excavating. You may not sub-hire, on-sell, or allow an unauthorised person to operate the machine.
5. Fuel
Machines are delivered with a full tank. Fuel is not included in the hire price — you are responsible for refuelling the machine during your hire and returning it with a full tank. Machines returned without a full tank will be refuelled at your cost.
6. Damage, Loss & the Damage Waiver
You are responsible for the equipment for the duration of the hire. Our optional Damage Waiver reduces your liability for accidental damage during normal operation — see our Damage Waiverpage for full terms. Damage caused by misuse, overloading, or operation outside the machine's rated capacity is not covered by the waiver and remains your responsibility.
7. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your scheduled delivery are fully refunded. Cancellations inside 24 hours, or same-day cancellations, may incur a delivery fee if a driver has already been dispatched. Refunds for equipment faults not caused by the customer are assessed case-by-case and, where the fault prevented reasonable use of the machine, will include a pro-rated refund of hire fees for the affected period.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, Dig Ready Machine Hire is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from equipment hire. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under law.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
